Basketball Recap: Gerstell Academy Takes a Loss

Gerstell Academy had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-4 to make it four. They came up short against the Saint James Saints, falling 54-30. Having soared to a lofty 65 points in the game before, Gerstell Academy couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Saint James, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Saint James' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyatt West, who posted seven points in addition to 11 boards and three blocks. Those three blocks gave West a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Yates, who scored 16 points.

Gerstell Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-55 defeat against Severn School on the 19th. As for Saint James, they have also already played their next game, a 74-47 win against Heritage Academy on the 13th.
