Basketball Recap: Capitol Comes Up Short

Capitol was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 50-19 loss at the hands of the Covington Lions. Capitol was down 39-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Covington was led to victory by Leniesha Burris and Anamaria Cerniglia. Burris posted 15 points, while Cerniglia put up 13 points. Another player making a difference was Mia Long, who earned six points.

Capitol's loss dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Covington, their victory bumped their record up to 8-16.

Capitol has already played their next match (against Episcopal), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Covington, they have already played their next contest, a 28-27 win against Glen Oaks on the 13th.
