Soccer Recap: Washington Wins Going Away Against Cortez

Washington kept a clean sheet against Cortez on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Cortez Colts with a sharp 8-0 win. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Colts, too.

Washington's offense was hitting Cortez from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Sherlyn Benitez Gutierrez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Washington now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cortez, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Washington will head out on the road to face off against Alhambra at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cortez, they will be playing at home against Glendale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cortez is facing Glendale at the right time seeing as Glendale is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
