Basketball Recap: Leadore's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Watersprings last Saturday, Leadore came back down to earth. The game between the Leadore Mustangs and the Challis Vikings didn't end well, with the Leadore Mustangs falling 50-33. The match marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Leadore lost on Tuesday, don't look at Azelynn Jones. Despite the final result, she posted ten points and six boards. Mesa Herbst was another key player, putting up 11 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Leadore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive games.

With the defeat, Leadore broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-2. As for Challis, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing American Heritage the next time they take the court. Leadore will host American Heritage at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, while Challis will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
