Recap: Cape Hatteras Hurricanes vs. Ocracoke Dolphins
The Cape Hatteras Hurricanes lost against the Ocracoke Dolphins back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Cape Hatteras took a 55-41 bruising from Ocracoke. Cape Hatteras has struggled against Ocracoke recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Cape Hatteras' loss came despite strong showings from Samuel Jenkins and Griffin Couch. Jenkins scored 17 points, while Couch scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Cape Hatteras has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Ocracoke, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cape Hatteras will take on Columbia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Columbia knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Cape Hatteras likes a good challenge. As for Ocracoke, they will head out on the road to challenge Hobgood Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
