Baseball Recap: St. James Comes Up Short

Bishop O'Connell hit St. James with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Sharks lost 10-2 to the Knights.

St. James saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Spencer Doyle, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that Doyle has hit this season.

St. James' defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Bishop O'Connell, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

St. James wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-5 win against Monsignor McClancy on the 25th. As for Bishop O'Connell, they have also already played their next game, a 12-8 victory against Georgetown on the 25th.
