            Softball Recap: Livermore Cowboys vs. California Grizzlies        
        
		
        
        
            Livermore had lost three straight on the road, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 13-7 to make it four. They fell just short of the California Grizzlies by a score of  3-2. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Grizzlies apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in May of 2024.
 Reese Boswell was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she  tossed six innings while giving up  three earned runs off   six  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk any time she's  pitched this season.
 At the plate, Livermore saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Laine Macosky, who  went 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.  Eliza Gerochi also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
As for California, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
 On California's side,  Jayda Crosby was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run and two  runs.
 Coming up, Livermore will head out to  square off against Foothill  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Cowboys' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.1  runs per game this season. As for California, they will welcome Alameda  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  victory, something the Grizzlies surely won't give up without a fight.
