Baseball Game Preview: Nipomo Titans vs. Morro Bay Pirates

Nipomo hasn't had much luck against Morro Bay recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Titans will welcome the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

Nipomo made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Righetti, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Titans fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Titans have suffered since April 26, 2024.

Nipomo saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aden Willis, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Willis is becoming a predictor of the Titans' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 5-12 when he doesn't). Another was Chase Moulden, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Morro Bay couldn't beat Atascadero on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Pirates fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 6-4. The Pirates have struggled against the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Quentin Crotts was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Morro Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Nipomo, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.
