Baseball Recap: DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals vs. Brockway Rovers
DuBois Central Catholic let Brockway stack five runs on them in the fifth inning on Monday but luckily DuBois Central Catholic prevailed anyway. The Cardinals came out on top against the Rovers by a score of 10-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 back in April.
Carter Himes was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Himes was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Brayden Zatsick was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Marek Hoyt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.
DuBois Central Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brockway only posted an OBP of .364.
