Football Recap: Middletown South Comes Up Short

Middletown South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 49-21 defeat at the hands of the Holmdel Hornets. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 28 points.

Middletown South's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Holmdel, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middletown South will venture away from home to square off against Marlboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holmdel, they will head out to take on Red Bank Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Caseys' defense has only allowed 3.8 points per game this season, so the Hornets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
