Baseball Recap: Rodriguez Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Rodriguez's offense. They came up short against the Rocklin Thunder on Friday, falling 8-0. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunder apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Rodriguez got a good showing from Nick Schikore, who tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Rodriguez saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean O'Connell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Rodriguez's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Rocklin, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Rodriguez wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-7 win against Bishop O'Dowd on the 1st. As for Rocklin, they have also already played their next contest, a 5-2 victory against Reno on the 8th.
