Softball Recap: Mentor Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Mentor proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 15) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Brunswick Blue Devils. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Sophia Smalley was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Aubree Col?n also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Mentor pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Brunswick, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mentor will square off against rival Shaker Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Brunswick is set to challenge their familiar foe Medina at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
