Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Lodi's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

It's playoff time, and Lodi had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Elk Grove Thundering Herd get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Flames have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Landon Beasley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Walker, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Lodi was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elk Grove only posted a batting average of .200.

Lodi is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. As for Elk Grove, they moved to 20-10 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Lodi nor the Thundering Herd have any future games scheduled.
