Lewiston won the last time they faced Lakeland and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bengals walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Hawks. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bengals.

Jenna Barney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Anna Ready was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Taren Nuxoll, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lewiston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Lewiston's record now sits at 8-10. As for Lakeland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Lewiston will head out on the road to take on Moscow at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.38 runs per game on average), something the Bengals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lakeland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Post Falls at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
