Football Recap: Evanston Falls Short Against Ranked Lander Valley + How To Watch

Evanston faced Lander Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Devils were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 50-18. The Devils lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 14-13 score last time.

Jackson Williams threw for 140 yards on nine of 17 attempts. Jayden Mills was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards. On the ground, Camden Batt rushed for 68 yards.

Lander Valley found their leader in sophomore Tjacks Tjacks, who threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2. As for Lander Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Evanston and Lander Valley will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Devils will challenge rival Green River at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lander Valley is set to square off against their familiar foe Torrington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
