Softball Game Preview: Dublin Gaels vs. Amador Valley Dons

Dublin hasn't had much luck against Amador Valley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Gaels will square off against the Dons at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Dublin is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game on Tuesday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Granada. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Gaels have suffered since March 27th.

Gabby Freyler stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Cat Ramirez, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Meanwhile, Amador Valley lost 26-14 to Carondelet on Tuesday. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mai Falcone made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Hailey Neves also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Dublin's record is now 1-14. As for Amador Valley, their record now sits at 9-12.

Dublin might still be hurting after the 14-4 defeat they got from Amador Valley in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Gaels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
