Basketball Recap: Wings Academy Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Wings Academy and Monroe Campus, and Monroe Campus kept the tradition alive. The Wings fell just short of Monroe Campus by a score of 57-55 on Monday. If the Wings were looking for revenge after losing 89-81 to Monroe Campus when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Loss or not, Wings Academy got some senior leadership from MOHAMED FOFANA and JJ ADDISON. FOFANA posted 23 points, while ADDISON dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points FOFANA has scored all season. DEMITRI LEWIS was another key player, putting up four points and six boards.

With the defeat, Wings Academy broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3. As for Monroe Campus, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Wings Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-55 win against John F. Kennedy Campus on the 17th. As for Monroe Campus, they will venture away from home to square off against Eagle Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
