Baseball Game Preview: Prospect Ridge Academy Miners vs. Forge Christian Fury

For the second straight game, Prospect Ridge Academy will face off against Forge Christian. The Miners will head out on the road to challenge the Fury at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Prospect Ridge Academy came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-1 to Forge Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Miners have suffered since May 7, 2024.

For Forge Christian's part, Ben McLean made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. McLean has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Burke Jasa was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Easton Wilde was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Forge Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win was the sixth in a row for Forge Christian, bringing their record up to 10-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
