After a string of four wins, Union's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Pocahontas County Warriors by a score of 2-1. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The final score came out to 25-27, 29-27, 25-18.

Union's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Pocahontas County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-16.

Union wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Petersburg on the 18th. As for Pocahontas County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Tygarts Valley on the 15th.
