Basketball Recap: Arizona College Prep Falls Despite Big Games from Malak Hag and Alyssa Gruber

The Arizona College Prep Knights received a blow on Friday as they fell 52-38 to the Campo Verde Coyotes. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Coyotes are ranked 29th).

Arizona College Prep's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alyssa Gruber, who posted seven points and five boards, and Malak Hag, who earned seven points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Arizona College Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Campo Verde, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.

Arizona College Prep has already played their next matchup, a 68-43 win against Desert Mountain on the 21st. As for Campo Verde, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 34-32 victory against Highland on the 20th.
