Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Viewmont's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Viewmont had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Bonneville Lakers by a score of 50-41 on Tuesday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 35-20 victory last Wednesday.

Mara Mickelson was her usual excellent self, going 6-for-11 from beyond the arc to rack up 26 points and eight boards. She has become a key player for Viewmont: the team is 12-3 when she posts at least 15 points, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Peterson, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Viewmont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Bonneville lost, don't look at Charity Mcdonald. Despite the final result, she went 5-for-10 on her way to 15 points. Baya Jimenez was another key player, putting up seven points along with 11 boards and six assists.

Viewmont has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for Bonneville, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-19.

Coming up, Viewmont will take on Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brighton will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Viewmont surely won't give up without a fight. Bonneville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
