Basketball Recap: Mapleton Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Mapleton won the last time they faced Eddyville and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mapleton Sailors put the hurt on the Eddyville Eagles with a sharp 52-28 win. The Sailors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Mapleton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lucie Burruss, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Burruss is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Helen Burruss, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points in addition to eight boards and four steals.

Mapleton has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Eddyville, they dropped their record down to 5-15 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
