Volleyball Recap: Newton (Home School) Takes a Loss

Newton (Home School) was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Reno County HomeSchool Sabres. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Sabres when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 15-25, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Newton (Home School) saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chloe Hoelscher had 25 digs and one assist. Those 25 digs set a new season-high mark for Hoelscher.

Newton (Home School)'s loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newton (Home School) will square off against St. Xavier at 5:30 p.m. on the 18th. As for Reno County HomeSchool, they will head out to challenge Pretty Prairie at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
