Baseball Game Preview: Kickapoo Panthers vs. Weston Silver Eagles

Kickapoo is 2-8 against Weston since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Silver Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Kickapoo has given up an average of 10.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Kickapoo's offense. They lost 16-0 to Seneca on Monday.

Meanwhile, Weston has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Richland Center. The loss was the Silver Eagles' first of the season.

Isaac Jennings put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off nine hits. Jennings was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other batting news, Garrett Jennings was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Blake Bingham, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Kickapoo's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Weston, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
