Football Recap: Pine Tree Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory + How To Watch

With a playoff win on the line, Pine Tree rose to the challenge on Friday. They walked away with a 35-27 win over the Yates Lions. 35 seems to be a good number for the Pirates as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Pine Tree found their leader in sophomore Bryk Bratton, who rushed for 167 yards and one TD while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.

Pine Tree was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 243 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chris Brown, who rushed for 39 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 128 yards and one TD.

The win (which was Pine Tree's third in a row) raised their record to 8-4. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.7 points over those games. As for Yates, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.
