Basketball Recap: Lakeland Starts Season with Victory Against Greater Nanticoke Area + How To Watch

Lakeland had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They took down the Greater Nanticoke Area Trojans 42-23. The Chiefs pushed the score to 42-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.

Cole Tonkin was a one-man wrecking crew as he went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chase Rosenkrans, who posted ten points along with six boards and five steals.

Lakeland has already played their next contest, a 51-43 victory against Wallenpaupack Area on the 3rd. Greater Nanticoke Area has also already played their next game (against Elk Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
