Basketball Recap: Smithsburg Takes a Loss

Smithsburg was the 78-68 winner over South Hagerstown when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Smithsburg Leopards fell 65-56 to the South Hagerstown Rebels on Friday. The Leopards' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Smithsburg's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for South Hagerstown, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.

Smithsburg will square off against Catoctin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Smithsburg is facing Catoctin at the right time seeing as Catoctin is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for South Hagerstown, it'll be Northside v. Southside when they and North Hagerstown meet at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in North Hagerstown's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
