League recap: Conemaugh Township stuns Rockwood in upset

Western Pennsylvania [WPAC] recap Sept. 26, 2012

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Rockwood, who took down 488th ranked Rockwood, 28-0. Tanner Cahill ran for 94 yards in the win.

Chad Eisenhuth of Ferndale ran for the longest rushing play in Western Pennsylvania [WPAC] this season against Conemaugh Valley last week. Eisenhuth ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 125 on the day as his team fell to the Bluejays.

Eisenhuth put up the best numbers through the air as Ferndale fell to Conemaugh Valley. He finished with a total of six completions for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Eisenhuth's favorite target this week was Isaiah Sajatovich, who caught two passes for 31 yards.

Brock Medva was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 338 yards as Shade bested Saltsburg. Dylan Glessner also contributed to the rushing game with 114 yards on the ground.

Miller was the best wideout in the league this week as the Cougars defeated the Trojans. Miller tallied one reception for 74 yards. Tony Strasiser helped North Star's passing attack out by catching four balls for 33 yards.

5-foot-10 quarterback Eisenhuth of Tony A Penna Sr's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 511. He has also thrown five touchdowns. On the ground, the Panthers' Medva has rushed for 863 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Luke Brancato. The Rockwood star has 13 catches for 272 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when North Star takes on Berlin Brothersvalley. As it stands, Stacy Schmitt's team is in fourth, while the Mountaineers are in second.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Cougars take on Berlin Brothersvalley. North Star has allowed 27 points this season, while Doug Paul's team has given up 21. The Cougars allowed 7 points last week as they topped Saltsburg.

Conemaugh Township was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 11th to seventh in the league. Earlier in the week, the Indians triumphed over the Rockets 28-0.
