Softball Recap: Maurepas Wolves vs. Central Private Redhawks

After flying high against False River on Friday, Maurepas came back down to earth. The Wolves fell 8-5 to the Central Private Redhawks on Monday. The Wolves haven't had much luck with the Redhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Kayden Delatte was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Layla Robinson was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Maurepas' defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Central Private, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maurepas will challenge Family Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Private, they will square off against Parkview Baptist at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Redhawks will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
