Basketball Recap: Hondo Valley Comes Up Short

If Hondo Valley was riding high fresh off their 69-46 takedown of Corona/Vaughn on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hondo Valley Eagles took a blow against the Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls on Friday, falling 95-61. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-13.

Hondo Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. The win (which was Cliff's ninth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hondo Valley will challenge Carrizozo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hondo Valley is facing Carrizozo at the right time seeing as Carrizozo is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Cliff, they will face off against Magdalena at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cliff has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
