Basketball Recap: Monarch Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Monarch extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Logan Laverty. The Monarch Coyotes had just enough and edged out the Centaurus Warriors 54-51 thanks in part to Laverty, who went 8-for-20 to rack up 28 points and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Monarch's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Gonzales, who posted six points and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jt Falzone, who earned 17 points. Falzone is becoming a predictor of Centaurus' success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 3-1 (and 6-13 when he doesn't). Finn Glaser was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Monarch's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Centaurus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

As of now, neither Monarch nor Centaurus have any future games scheduled.
