Basketball Game Preview: Logansport Berries vs. Wabash Apaches

The Logansport Berries are taking a road trip to take on the Wabash Apaches at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Logansport will be strutting in after a win while Wabash will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Logansport turned things around against Fremont on Saturday. They secured a 51-47 W over the Eagles.

Logansport got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was RJ Clem out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards. Clem is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Baldwin, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, Wabash was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 46-38 to Northfield.

Logansport will have to contain Eli Mattern as he made an impact in Wabash's last game. He went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 21 points. Those 21 points gave Mattern a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarrett McWhirt, who put up seven points.

Logansport's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Wabash, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's matchup: Logansport has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Wabash, though, as they've only made 29.3% of their three-pointers this season.
