Baseball Recap: Immaculata-La Salle's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Immaculata-La Salle put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for David Posnack Jewish Day. The Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions put the hurt on the David Posnack Jewish Day Rams with a sharp 18-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Royal Lions, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Evan Mytril looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Connor Hernandez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Jason Amor, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Immaculata-La Salle kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory was the third in a row for Immaculata-La Salle, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for David Posnack Jewish Day, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Immaculata-La Salle will square off against Coral Gables at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for David Posnack Jewish Day, they will challenge Boca Raton Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. David Posnack Jewish Day has given up an average of 12.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
