Volleyball Game Preview: Winthrop Vikings vs. Danvers Falcons

Winthrop hasn't had much luck against Danvers recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Vikings will challenge the Falcons at 10:15 a.m.

Winthrop came up short against Saugus on Wednesday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-20, 25-13.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Danvers, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Ipswich 3-2.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Danvers who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 15-25, 15-10.

Danvers' win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Winthrop, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Winthrop couldn't quite get it done against Danvers in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
