Volleyball Recap: Raymond Central Mustangs vs. Shelby-Rising City Huskies
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Seward, Raymond Central was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Shelby-Rising City Huskies, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since September 16th.
Raymond Central had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 24-26, 25-17, 25-14, 15-10.
Izabella Lubischer paced Raymond Central's offense, picking up 13 kills. Lubischer got some help from Savannah Masek and her 39 assists. Peyton Niemeyer controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Raymond Central moved to 8-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak. As for Shelby-Rising City, their defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.
Coming up, Raymond Central will face off against Syracuse on Thursday. As for Shelby-Rising City, they will challenge Wilber-Clatonia on Thursday.
