Preview: Brantley Bulldogs vs. Leroy Bears
The Brantley Bulldogs will face off against the Leroy Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Brantley sitting on five straight wins and Leroy on 17 (dating back to last season).
Brantley extended their postseason success on Friday against Loachapoka. They skirted past the Indians 14-12.
Meanwhile, Leroy didn't have too much trouble with Georgiana on the road on Friday as they won 27-13.
Brayden Huebner was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 66 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes.
Leroy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Sawyer Sullivan and Timothy Parnell who racked up four sacks between them.
Brantley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Leroy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.
Brantley was taken down by Leroy 42-14 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Can Brantley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
