Basketball Recap: Jessie Dejesus' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Temple Christian over Lubbock Christian

Temple Christian lost against Lubbock Christian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Temple Christian Eagles fell to the Lubbock Christian Eagles 73-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (55), Temple Christian still had to take the loss.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jessie Dejesus, who went 7 for 17 en route to 19 points and three steals. Dejesus has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played. Grant Walker was another key player, going 10 of 20 on his way to 28 points.

Temple Christian dropped their record down to 13-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lubbock Christian, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-6.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Trinity Christian the next time they take the court. Lubbock Christian will host Trinity Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Temple Christian will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
