Softball Recap: Bassett Comes Up Short

Bassett had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-10 to make it 12. They lost 18-0 to the Ganesha Giants. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Olympians' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Ganesha, the win (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 22-4-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14.6 runs.

For Ganesha's part, Kalena Lemus and Isabella Lopez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Lemus struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Lopez struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. At bat, Lemus went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple, while Lopez went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Ganesha got a massive performance out of Hollynn Gentry, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Gentry has posted since back in April of 2024. Brooklyn Game was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

As of now, neither Bassett nor Ganesha have any future games scheduled.
