Basketball Recap: Cane Bay Takes a Loss

Cane Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the Goose Creek Gators, falling 55-11. The Cobras lost against the Gators in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 34-24 score last time.

Goose Creek found their leader in freshman Celeste Griffin, who went 5 for 8 to rack up 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Madeline Dates, who posted eight points and nine boards.

Cane Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Goose Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Cane Bay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-6 loss against Wando on the 4th. As for Goose Creek, they have also already played their next game, a 56-28 defeat against Berkeley on the 4th.
