Waverly had to settle for second on Monday, but Bruin Sampson sure wasn't going down easily. Sampson wasn't messing around, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. The pitching appearance was his fourth straight with five or more strikeouts.
