Football Game Preview: Harvester Christian Academy Hawks vs. Unity Christian Lions

The Harvester Christian Academy Hawks will challenge the Unity Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harvester Christian Academy has given up an average of 35.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Harvester Christian Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They skirted past Community Christian 42-40.

Harvester Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aubrey Young out in front who rushed for 154 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 62 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes. Another back making a difference was Jed Yarnall, who rushed for 90 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Harvester Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Unity Christian faced Pinecrest Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams two weeks ago. The Lions blew past the Paladins 35-0. The Lions' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Unity Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Harvester Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Harvester Christian Academy was taken down by Unity Christian 60-22 in their previous meeting back in October. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Hawks were down 39-14.
