Football Recap: Crean Lutheran Beats La Serna for Their Fifth Straight Win

Crean Lutheran extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They put the hurt on the La Serna Lancers with a sharp 38-14 victory. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 24 points or more this season.

A big part of Crean Lutheran's win came down to the chemistry between Caden Jones and his top target Dillon Booth. Jones threw for 313 yards and two TDs while completing 82.1% of his passes while Booth gained 176 total yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Jones racked up 140.9 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Bryce Coleman also helped out as he racked up 104 receiving yards.

As for La Serna, they now have a losing record of 2-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since September 20, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why La Serna lost, don't look at Elias Huerta. Despite the final result, he rushed for 87 yards and one score.

Coming up, after each having a week off, Crean Lutheran and Foothill will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on October 4. The Saints will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for La Serna, they have already played their next contest, a 23-21 victory against Edison on the 26th.
