Football Recap: Cedar Creek Triumphs

After low-scoring totals in their previous eight contest, Cedar Creek brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They came out on top against the Lehman Lobos by a score of 35-28 on Thursday. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 41-38 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Lehman still got an impressive performance from Gunner Winiecki, who threw for 304 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Kerry Green also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

Cedar Creek's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Lehman, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Cedar Creek will square off against Hendrickson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lehman, they will face off against Hays at 7:30 p.m. on the 7th. The Lobos will be up against the Hawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
