Softball Recap: Leake Central Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Leake Central's offense. They came up short against the Starkville Christian Cougars on Thursday, falling 17-0. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Gators' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Leake Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jakiyla Hannah, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.

Leake Central dropped their record down to 2-20 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road. As for Starkville Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Coming up, Leake Central will square off against Columbus at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Starkville Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Philadelphia at 6:15 p.m. on the 23rd.
