Preview: Cedar Creek Pirates vs. Middle Township Panthers
Cedar Creek is 0-5 against Middle Township since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Cedar Creek Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Middle Township Panthers at 1:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cedar Creek has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Middle Township will arrive with three straight wins.
Last Thursday, Cedar Creek came up short against Delsea and fell 38-30.
Middle Township posted their biggest victory since December 16, 2023 on Wednesday. They blew past Absegami 51-31. Middle Township has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Madison Palek continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. She also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Mckenzie Palek, who scored eight points along with four steals and two blocks.
Cedar Creek bumped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Middle Township, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Cedar Creek took a serious blow against Middle Township in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, falling 60-26. Thankfully for Cedar Creek, Jada Elston (who scored 28 points along with six rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
