Volleyball Recap: Cardinal Spellman Cardinals vs. Brockton Boxers
Cardinal Spellman unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Brockton Boxers by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Boxers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Cardinal Spellman took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-20, 15-6.
KAYLEE PERAULT paced Cardinal Spellman's offense, picking up eight kills. PERAULT got some help from MARIN KEARNEY and her 13 assists. KEARNEY also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with MIA TONELLO, racking up three apiece.
Cardinal Spellman will challenge Holbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brockton, they will head out on the road to square off against Plymouth North at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
