Volleyball Recap: Navarre Takes a Loss

Navarre lost against Niceville back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Raiders came up short against the Eagles, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Raiders have suffered against the Eagles since September 28, 2019.

While Navarre ultimately came up short, they really made Niceville work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-21, 25-22.

Navarre's offense was headlined by Katelyn Weller and Rhyan Schorzman, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Isabel Gutierrez and her 13 assists. Weller also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Amiyah Byrd, racking up two apiece.

Navarre has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Niceville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Navarre will challenge Choctawhatchee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Niceville, they will square off against Crestview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
