Softball Recap: Westfall Mustangs vs. Southeastern Panthers
Westfall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southeastern Panthers. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 12-1.
Adrina Hicks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Sydney Fuller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Cook, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Westfall's record now sits at 9-9. As for Southeastern, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
