Basketball Recap: Kassiah Ducworth Key Part of Team Effort in Thunderhawks Win

After losing to Buena Vista the last time they met, Ellicott decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Everything went the Ellicott Thunderhawks' way against the Buena Vista Demons on Friday as the Ellicott Thunderhawks made off with a 51-31 victory. The Thunderhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ellicott to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kassiah Ducworth, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. Ducworth's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Teysia Tacoronte was another key player, putting up ten points along with five boards and five steals.

Ellicott smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buena Vista only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.

Ellicott's record is now 11-5. As for Buena Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Ellicott wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-21 win against Florence on the 13th. As for Buena Vista, they have also already played their next contest, a 62-36 victory against James Irwin on the 13th.
