Basketball Game Preview: McCracken County Mustangs vs. Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers

The McCracken County Mustangs just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

McCracken County is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Graves County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. McCracken County lost 59-37 to Graves County. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Eagles are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Breckinridge County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They blew past Hancock County 70-32 on Friday.

Breckinridge County pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points over those games. As for McCracken County, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.

McCracken County couldn't quite finish off Breckinridge County when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 41-39. Can McCracken County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
